About this episode
I’m thrilled to join Bethany on her podcast to share my personal breastfeeding journey. When I had my first baby, I struggled with nursing and felt totally on my own—there weren’t many resources or people around me who really understood what I was going through. By the time my second child arrived, I was determined to push through, even when I experienced intense pain every time we tried to nurse.
It wasn’t until a perceptive midwife spotted that my baby had a tongue tie that things finally shifted. With her help, I got a diagnosis and treatment that made all the difference. Looking back, I wish I’d reached out to a lactation consultant much sooner instead of powering through the struggles alone. Above all, finding a community of fellow moms taught me that these challenges are more common than we think—and that having support makes the whole breastfeeding experience feel more manageable, empowering, and joyful.
